Essentials Of Missionary Service
Kenneth Fleming

Format: Book

Price: Rs 50.00

Description

TITLE: "Essentials Of Missionary Service"

AUTHOR: Kenneth Fleming

This is a 'must read' for anyone starting out in mission or with a heartbeat for evangelism.

Written by a well-respected member of the missionary fraternity, ESSENTIALS OF MISSIONARY SERVICE does as the title suggests. KEN FLEMING provides the reader with a summary of the 'essentials' rather than the peripherals, using Paul and his missionary journeys as described in Acts to illustrates the biblical basis for the work.

ESSENTIALS OF MISSIONARY SERVICE is neatly divided into four sections which began as a series of lectures delievered at Westminster Chapel, London. In each of the four parts, the author gives a concise and basic analysis of the text from Acts and uses contemporary illustrations to provide missionaries of today with further food for thought.

Through these studies the author looks at core elements of mission and discusses why other forms of service like aid work should take a lesser role and in one chapter focuses in on church planting. He examines in detail the motives, influences, goals and message of Paul's ministry, emphasising in particular the apostle's sensivity to varying cultural backgrounds. Contemporary examples wonderfully capture the diversity of approach Paul employed. The reader will also learn from Paul's teaching and discipleship ministry, and be encouraged to grow in maturity within the body of Christ.

About the AUTHOR:

KEN FLEMING brings years of incredible experience, wisdom and insight to this valuable book at the heart of mission. From an early age - at school and college - Ken and his brother Peter were enthusiastic evangelists. Peter tragically lost his life alongside Jim Elliot seeking to reach the Auca Indians. Ken went on to spend many years on the missionfield in South Africa and, for the last 23 years has been head of the missions department at Emmaus Bible College, Iowa.
